On the Road with the Princess

So many wonderful comments about our Chinese Princess…it makes my Mama heart so Happy! We are on the road this weekend to Philadelphia and a first train ride for the Princess…

image

The Princess and I are always up for adventure and with the weather turning warmer ( Although Snow? This afternoon? Really?) we will be able to resume our walks around beautiful Downtown Annapolis. The Navy has brought us to the gem of a city but our hearts are leading us to stay…

image

We start at our beautiful 1920 Four square rental…It does look spectacular in the winter but I am ready for Spring

image

We stroll past one of my dream houses…Annapolis is full of dream houses. This is Acton House and it was built in 1770. Isn’t it gorgeous?

image

Reynolds’s Tavern is located on Church Circle and serves High Tea on the weekends…I can’t wait to take Princess in a few years…they also have a beer Garden in the summer…my husband prefers that experience.

image

The best part of Reynold’s tavern is Darim..the wonderful flower guy. His flowers are lovely and reasonably priced..plus he is the happiest person I ever met…

Our Princess last year enjoying the flowers!image

We head down the most beautiful Main Street in the country…

image

…To the ultimate ice cream experience...Storm Brothers….guaranteed to be filled with handsome (and beautiful ) Midshipman on the weekend…

image *Sigh* I can’t believe I live in this beautiful city.

Come and visit…The Princess and I will meet you downtown…we can have ice cream together…or crab cakes…your choice!

  1. Wow, you do live in a beautiful city! And the home you’ll be living in is wonderful. You and Princess will have many happy memories I know, and hubby too! The Main Street looks like the one at Disney World! The flower guy does look like a very happy guy, who wouldn’t be happy to be surrounded by such beauty?
Thanks so much for sharing and Happy Spring!

  2. Hi Amy,
Your town looks charming. It reminds me of where I live where we are surrounded by water and a slower moving life style. Love your house! How lovely to have a front veranda. And yes, I agree that is a dream house that you admire. Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day.

    Blessings,

  3. Amy, what a lovely stroll with you and THE Princess in Annapolis. I loved seeing Darim and his gorgeous flowers. I giggled at your comment about high tea and beer garden. Fun! Happy Spring!

    1. My husband is a Navy Officer as well, almost retired. He was a midshipman so he will begin and end his Naval career in the same place! It is a lovely vacation spot!

  5. Very pretty images of your town. I’ve not been to Annapolis, but I would love to visit there some day. I love the East Coast, and especially for the history of great places like the Navy’s home base. Your Princess is a sweetie!

  6. As many times as we have traveled to the East Coast, we have missed Annapolis. I just love the redbrick of the old colonial cities. And Ice Cream, after CRABCAKES sounds delicious, thanks for the tour, Sandi

  7. Annapolis is a wonderful place to explore. We left our boat there a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to experience the entire area.

  14. How fun! I love a train and only get to ride when we are in New York or taking a trip somewhere…no local trains in our area. Sigh. Thank you for the great tour of town and homes. Have never been, so seeing it through your eyes…lovely~
