A little Spring in the Dining Room…

What Spring means to me…

A bursting forth of new life in a glorious renewal…

Neighborly conversations over fences and garden beds as you exchange the beauty of the season…

…that leads to invitation to share tea and cake.

A symphony of noise as the world awakes from a winter sleep…

…and pensive moments by the sea with the breeze in your hair!

  1. What a lovely post, Amy! Spring really does cause us all to wake up. I know it is my favourite time of year. I love the pink transferware on your tiered stand. It’s too cold here yet to go outside without a jacket but your little one sure enjoys it. It must be quite a bit warmer where you are. Thank you for sharing and linking up with me.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

    1. Warm and then…not warm. Hoping the Spring weather returns soon. The pink and white transferware is my very favorite. I am on the look out for more pieces!

  2. I am so envious of your incredibly gorgeous buffet, was it a family piece? I saw so many wonderful pieces in your home, you have a beautiful home. Looks like it’s so pretty there in Annapolis, never been there but your photo gives us slice of a view.
Your little one is so precious, they grow up too quickly.
Your pretty flowers on dining table sure do cheer up a room, don’t they? I have same purple ones in our front flower bed.
    Have wonderful week

    1. Not a family piece, just a lovely buy while I was living in Germany. I actually almost walked away and not buy it…
Our Princess is a true joy and a huge blessing…also quite lively and busy. It makes life interesting to say the least.
Hoping Spring returns soon so we can plant those flowers in the yard. Very wintry again in Annapolis.

      1. We had a neighbor in MT that was from Germany. She’d go for visit and come back with most awesome treasures. Wished could have gone with her, what an experience that would have been. She had lots of family still in Germany.
She ‘d go to yard sales and come back with gorgeous pieces of furniture, she’d go snooping in their basements and anywhere else she could to find pieces the people had no intention of selling. She had huge breath taking buffet I was quite envious of, shame on me.
Our little ones grow up so quickly, ours will be 46 on 11th.She was never just hubs/my baby from birth, 3 older kids took her over practically .Had 3 kids when hubs/I married, 3rd. one is almost 6 yrs. older than her. Enjoy your little princess all you can, she is very precious. Thx for reply.

  4. Spring is my favorite season and I love these things as well. Drooling over that fabulous board on top of the cabinet. Not sure if it’s a cutting board. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

    1. That German bread board was a recent purchases from a store downtown Annapolis. The owner knows I like primitives and gives me heads up when a special beauty comes in…I fell in love with this one.

  5. Amy, love this post! Did you change the banner at the top of your blog? It’s so pretty.

You named a few of my favorite things about spring too. It’s just wonderful when everybody comes out of the house to visit. Even here in Texas we hide in the house more in the winter and it feels good to come out in the yard and reconnect with everyone.

Is that an antique breadboard on top of your clock? It’s beautiful!

We are so happy that you join us at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. It means so much to us. 🙂

    1. I did change it! I like the personal connection it holds. Spring was here but not it seems to be gone again.
It is a German antique breadboard I fell in love with from a shop downtown. I just had to splurge.

  7. What lovely spring flowers and the special flower “Princess”. Hyacinths smell so wonderful. I have some blooming out front now but inside – my hubby would be “ill” so best outside for us. I loved your photos and am so pleased you linked and shared.
