One of my most favorite things about Fall is all the excitement surrounding back to school! Whether my role is student or teacher, I love the idea of shiny new beginnings and the anticipation of new things to learn and discover. Antique and vintage school elements are a favorite collection of mine. It gives me great joy each year to display them in celebration of all things educational. I hope they bring back happy memories!
Our sweet Princess is off to school next week so we planned one more summer adventure to the Baltimore aquarium…she was mesmerized!

Your vintage items are wonderful! I love how you stacked the books on the old child’s chair. This should get everyone in the mood for back-to-school! 🙂

I love all your vintage items! I decorate a lot with vintage. I have an old school desk and some old books, but I usually try to do kind of a back-to-school theme as well. Your article is very inspiring!

Ohhh, cute little princess. Is this her first day ever or her first day in 1st grade? I can’t remember, sorry. Love the shot of her peeking out the window. Talk about a true shot that I’d have to do in black and white and save forever!

First in PreK. Next year is Kindergarten and I don’t think my heart can take it. Our sweet girl loves school and I am so happy to teach at the same school…right down the hall.

Vintage flash cards are my fave! I used to live in the D.C. area and loved going to the aquarium! So cool for kids (and adults, too!) Thanks for sharing your inspiration at Vintage Charm:)

Love your back to school mantel. Baltimore is a favorite destination for me. My husband and I visited there a few years ago when he took a course at the University of Maryland. Of course we visited Annapolis too. Thank you for sharing at Snickerdoodle. Looks like the Princess had a great outing before going back to school.

I would like to explore Baltimore a bit more. It seems like we only venture there when we take Princess to Johns Hopkins. We want to show her the fun side of the city as well. If you visit Annapolis again come see us. We live right downtown!

I love your collection of vintage school-related items. The carpenter’s ruler brings back some memories for me. My Dad always had one and I would try to open it and inevitably bend it the wrong way and break it. He had to replace his ruler a couple of times.

I have had to remove it from little hands a few times. Hopefully it will survive until next year!
